Your Parish Council Would like Your Ideas

Your chance to suggest Improvements to our local highways

The Parish Council have an opportunity to apply for funds from the Warwickshire Highways Community Action Fund (HCAF) to improve the highways in our area. They would like ideas and suggestions from parishioners as to what these could be.

For more information see below from Parish Clark, Dawn Fisher.

For your ideas and suggestions please contact candspcc@gmail.com.

‘The Warwickshire Highways Community Action Fund is a new £1m investment to support and enable local communities to undertake changes and improvements to the highway in their area.

The fund empowers local areas to bring forward their ideas and work in collaboration with Warwickshire County Council (WCC) to make them a reality.

The HCAF is designed to be a flexible fund, supporting only capital investments that enhance highways. It cannot be used for studies or plans. While local areas determine their proposals, the fund is expected to support projects such as:

  • Local highway maintenance: Resurfacing, pavement improvements, cycle routes, footpaths, etc.
  • Road safety measures: Speed reduction initiatives, improved signage, school zones, safe routes to school.
  • Environmental enhancements: Gateway signs, public realm improvements, signage, and waymarking.
  • Climate change adaptation: Local drainage improvements.

The anticipated maximum grant per area is £25,000, unless for exceptional circumstances.
