Whitsun Art Exhibition at Jacques Barn: Save the Dates

Spencer House Gallery present a ‘Pride of Place’ showing of artists celebrating all aspects of Cotswold Life: 22 – 25 and 28 – 31 May

Spencer House Gallery champions excellent regional art and has recently transferred from Tetbury, in the South Cotswolds. Owner, Chris, has just moved from Oxfordshire to Upper Tysoe.

The Pride of Place show will be her North Cotswold debut.

“I’m really looking forward to putting down new roots and getting to know the art-loving communities of my home patch. And, of course, I’m so grateful to Sally for allowing me to exhibit in her lovely Jacques Barn space.”

The dozen artists featured in the show are all Cotswold-based or inspired – or both – and most of them live in the Stourton region.

Their work, both figurative and abstract, will cover oil and acrylic painting, various kinds of printmaking, drawing and ceramics. Something for all tastes and pockets.

The Private View – on the Friday evening, 22 May – is a launch event open to all:
“We’re hoping lots of local residents come along to meet the artists, view the art and help us have an evening to remember.”

Join the 2026 RSPB Big Garden Birdwatch this Weekend

Feldons Wildlife Group Invite you to take part in the RSPB’s Big Garden Birdwatch 23 – 25 January 2026

See message below from Nick Homes on behalf of the Feldons Wildlife Club concerning the world’s largest garden wildlife survey which is taking place this weekend 23- 25 January:

“The RSPB’s annual Big Garden Birdwatch is happening this weekend!

This is one of the world’s biggest Citizen Science projects, and provides essential data about the state of the nation’s birdlife.

All you need to do is make a cup of tea, watch your garden for one hour, and note down the maximum number of each kind of bird you see at the same time.

A detailed guide of what to do (and what the birds look like!) are on the RSPB’s website:
https://www.rspb.org.uk/whats-happening/big-garden-birdwatch

Once you’ve done your count, enter the numbers on the RSPB website, and please also send a copy to Nick Holmes at Jarrett’s Cottage, at nickpholmes7@gmail.com or via the WhatsApp group (see the QR code in the image).

Many thanks, and have a good watch!’
