For a message concerning the last 2 Farmers Markets this year and the future of our much loved monthly events, please read below from Annie Lewis who has been instrumental in their success thus far:
‘Join us for the last two Farmers Markets of 2025! Thursday 6 November and Thursday 4 December, 6-8pm at the Hall, Fresh Veg, Cheese, Preserves, Meat, Eggs, Pies and Sausage Rolls, Teas, Chocolate……… plus ceramics, Neals Yard, cards and gifts. The splendid Catchy Fish will be serving their Fish and Chip Suppers and the Bar will be open. It is a great community social get together and the best local shopping opportunity.
The markets which run from April to December are completing their 8th successful year! Thank you so much our lovely stallholders and customers supporting local produce and people. Huge thanks are also due to the team who manage the admin, the media, put out signage, stock the bar, operate the bar, set up and help clear up at the end!
2026 will need a change in order for the market to continue – either in its current or a new format. New folk are needed for the admin and running of the market which are shared tasks requiring two/three people who give 5-10 hours each month. Anyone interested who has ideas and would like a chance to run or recreate this valuable and beneficial project is welcome to drop a note to anniethepatch@yahoo.co.uk.‘
Alan’s funeral will take place at St John the Baptist, Cherington on Thursday 13th November 2025 at 12:00 noon followed by a wake at Feldon Valley Golf Club.
