For anyone interested in taking part in this sponsored walk from The Hall to help raise funds for the children’s charity World Vision, please see message below from organiser, Richard Stevens:
‘Dear all – the date for the SW7 Benefice seven churches walk to raise money for World Vision is just around the corner (Saturday 20 September). Therefore, I wanted to update you on the plans, and enlist your support to encourage people to walk and/or support the arrangements on the day, and/or sponsor those people who will be walking to raise money for a great cause.
The latest plans for the walk are:
12.30 pm – Registration and refreshments at Cherington and Stourton Village Hall (CSVH). Departure at 1.00 pm with transport if needed to the chosen church start point. There will be 3 main routes back to CSVH: 1) Long Compton church via Whichford (c.5 miles); 2) Barton church via Wolford and Burmington (c.7 miles); 3) Barcheston church to Cherington (c. 4 miles). We will have the CSVH available until 6.00 pm.
Please can you encourage people to walk and to let me know which route they would like to walk. A few people may wish to join the hardy individuals who will walk round all 7 churches – c.15 miles – (these people do not include me!), or they may want to walk just one stage back to CSVH, e.g. from Burmington or Whichford to Cherington.
If anyone could help on the day with transport / refreshments etc., and/or sponsor someone who will be walking then could they please contact me (richardastevens235@gmail.com, mobile 07912043838).’
