Whichford Road, Stourton closed to vehicular traffic between the junctions of Marsh Farm Lane and Long Compton Road for drainage works Thursday 6th November.
An alternative route will be signed.
Vehicular access & egress will be maintained where possible.
Bank Holiday Weekend Festivities at our lovely local, The Cherington, on Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th August with proceeds going towards the Donkey Sanctuary
Two days of August Bank Holiday festivities of family fun, delicious food, live music, sports games, the famous tug of war into the river and much, much more!
A Big Thank You to everyone who attended the village Safari Supper last Saturday.
We had a great time dodging the showers to get to our respective hosts where we were greeted with warm welcomes and delicious food!
Particular thanks go to all our hosts and pudding providers – the event couldn’t go ahead without you, and to our lovely local, The Cherington, for looking after us at the end of the evening.
Best of all we raised £771 for The Hall and Playing Field funds.

An alternative route will be signed and is available via: Long Compton Road, Harrow Hill, Hack Lane, A3400, Wood Lane, Little Wolford Road, Church Row, Village Road, Whichford Road and vice versa.
Vehicular access & egress will be maintained where possible.
The Sutton Under Brailes / Brailes Road is due to open by end of day on Friday July 18th
Contractors working on the reinstatement of the road surface between Sutton under under Brailes and Feldon Golf course after Saturday’s water leak estimate that the work will be completed by close of day Friday.
Timetable for Saturday’s attendees of Safari Supper 2025
7:00 – aperitif at Jacques
7:30 – depart for starter course
8:45 – leave for main
10:15 – leave for pub
We’ll meet up at Jacques House, Stourton (thank you Sally) at 7:00, where you’ll be greeted with a glass of fizz (other drinks will be available) to kick things off!
Here you will be informed as to your starter destination and depart at 7:30.
Your starter host lets you know the whereabouts of your mains for which you leave at 8:45.
Our lovely local, The Cherington will be gearing up to welcome us all for the pudding course from 10:15. They are putting on extra staff for our benefit so let’s show our gratitude by buying lots of drinks!
