‘Aspirational Plan’ Progress and Thanks to the Volunteers

Yesterday (Feb 10th), on a bright and for once dry (!) Saturday morning, a group of 20 or so volunteers from the village started work on the first phase of the ‘Aspirational Plan’ for the Hall / Playing field.

See below for report on progress of the plan from The Hall chairman Jim Walton, and a few pics of the day.

Hall/Playing Field Aspirational Plan – Progress

‘The Aspirational Plan having recently been approved, a Working Group of some 20 volunteers met to start work on the first phase of the work on a sunny Saturday morning. Anyone passing the Playing Field recently will notice a big change with the roadside hedge having been coppiced and the gaps replanted.  Repairs have been made to the Playground equipment.  Thanks to all who participated, a great deal was achieved.  There is going to have to be a big bonfire when conditions allow.

The Plan is ambitious and whilst a lot can be achieved by volunteers, substantial funds will be required, particularly so that the additional car parking area can be constructed.  Thanks for funding on the first phase which has been supported with a substantial contribution from Cotswold Decorative Ironworks for the expensive fencing and G.H. Walton & Son for the hedge plants and guards.  If you are able to help fund this project, please make contact with our treasurer Piers Marshall at info@thehallevents.org.uk

Your help is essential.

We will be organising further working parties so look out for information on this here on the village website.’
